About
Jeff Reece, Artist
Jeff has always had a passion for two things: cooking and painting. He enjoys developing new recipes and combining different techniques to capture the beauty of the world around us through art. Both offer him the opportunity to create something that brings joy to others.
He says his creative outlets have many things in common, including the challenges. No one prepares a perfect meal every day. An artist doesn’t paint a masterpiece every time. Instead, Jeff enjoys the process of refining ingredients and techniques until he creates a dish that can be savored and remembered or a painting that inspires a connection and becomes a cherished art piece.
Another inspiration for Jeff is the late artist, Thornton Utz. In 1987, he was fortunate to spend time with Utz in his private studio. Jeff absorbed details about techniques and the processes he followed. Utz shared backstories about his creations, including his portraits of Princess Grace of Monaco and collaborating with Norman Rockwell for the cover art of The Saturday Evening Post.
Whether it’s putting pen to paper or brush to canvas, Jeff has learned to appreciate each creation as a new experience and another opportunity to tell his visual story.
Jeff lives and works in Anna, Texas.
He is available for commissions and also offers classes to help encourage aspiring artists.
